Achievement Highlights

On Sunday, Erdogmus reached an ELO rating of 2601 during the Abu Dhabi Chess Festival. The Turkish Chess Federation praised his exceptional performance, noting that he has now become the youngest player to cross the 2600 ELO threshold.

“Our star athlete… has become the youngest player to surpass a 2600 ELO rating,” the Federation stated, extending their congratulations and best wishes for his continued success.

Historical Comparison

This achievement places Erdogmus ahead of Magnus Carlsen, the Norwegian world chess champion who crossed the 2600 ELO mark at age 16 in 2007. Carlsen, who is now regarded as one of the greatest chess players of all time, reached this rating after several years of intense competition. Erdogmus, however, has achieved this milestone at a significantly younger age, highlighting his extraordinary talent and promising future in chess.
