Turkish Wrestler Buse Tosun Cavusoglu Wins Bronze at Paris 2024 Olympics
Turkish wrestler Buse Tosun Cavusoglu has clinched a bronze medal in the women’s 68-kilogram weight class at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The match took place at the Champ de Mars Arena.
Cavusoglu’s journey began with a loss in the first round to Amit Elor of the United States. However, Elor’s progress to the finals provided Cavusoglu with a second chance through the repechage rounds.
In the repechage, Cavusoglu triumphed over Viktorya Choluj from Poland. She then faced North Korea’s Sol Gum Pak in the bronze medal bout and secured victory with a 4-2 score.
With this win, Türkiye’s medal tally at the Paris 2024 Games rises to three. Previously, Türkiye earned a silver medal in the mixed 10-meter air pistol event, thanks to Yusuf Dikec and Sevval Ilayda Tarhan, and a bronze in the men’s archery team event with Mete Gazoz, Muhammed Abdullah Yildirim, and Ulash Berkim Tumer.
